The world of DIY blogs can be an intimidating place.
Pinterest fools you in to thinking you can easily build a king size bed in just an afternoon while your kids quietly play legos in the corner for 5 hours. The truth is it just ain't like that.
I've done enough projects to realize that you don't always save money by doing it yourself. There's also a steep learning curve which takes quite a bit of time from

Revisiting the stair walls (again).
The shelves around the fireplace are finished, painted and 1/3rd of the way filled!
I find myself gravitating more towards a minimalist look when it comes to my home, which this wall definitely was pre-shelves. There's enough junk-amalism that comes along with 4 boys that I need my decor not to add to the revolving mess. Now that I have these shelves I'm trying to strike a balance between not junking them up with clutter vs. carefully curating them to look quiet, functional and
Bathroom renovation reveal.
We have four bathrooms in our house.
I've shared our main bath and master bath with you...
the fourth bathroom will be revealed in a few short weeks...
today we are talking the third bathroom.
We've actually had this bathroom half-way functioning for the past two years.
The thing that hasn't been functioning is that there's been no vanity and sink.
The bathroom is small.
Very small.

Projects happening around our house and a $5500. giveaway!
That's no typo!

Interview with HGTV Star Leanne Ford…
I recently had the opportunity to interview the amazingly talented HGTV designer, Leanne Ford. I have followed Leanne from the get-go and respect her design eye tremendously.
What I admire about Leanne's work is that she isn't one of those designers who goes in to a space with grand plans to demolish every wall, and make everything look new and shiny. Occasionally yes, but she's very selective. Instead, she seems to have a "horse-whisperer" sense (except for interiors) where she gets in
Tween to Teen Bedroom Makeover
This room has gone through quite the transformation.
When we first moved in 7 years ago it was the room where we threw everything misc while we got settled in. AKA "the junk room."
It stayed "the junk room" for way longer than anticipated (and way longer than I care to fess up to).
Slowly but surely it became a guest room.
Then my oldest son decided he wanted to take it over so we fixed it up for real (see here).
(See the full details of the first room makeover here).
Now that my
