Today I had the opportunity to share some handmade Valentine's day projects "on air".

I'll share them with you on Monday.

In the meantime, I'll be over at the house painting all weekend until I'm higher than a kite.

Evolution of a master bedroom.

Renovation goes something like this...

1. Take a perfectly good room, rip down everything (trim, base, walls, windows, doors, etc.).
2. Fret that you may have overshot your budget AFTER you've already demo'd everything and the house is a disaster.
3. Stay up at night worrying.
4. Spontaneously break out with acne like your going through puberty.
5. Take forever putting the room back together piece by piece.

Here's the master bedroom when we first looked at the house back in March 2011.

Renters were still living in the house and it was pretty shabby.

They cleared out and left us with an empty shell.

The room was really small. They just didn't make rooms large back in the 70's. We took this laundry closet out, moved the wall and incorporated this door to make the master bedroom a wee bit larger.

New window trim, baseboards, paint, carpet (eventually).
Don't you just love the view?

This new door is not only super cool but really functional.

They've incorporated the blinds directly in between the glass.

They can go all the way up for an unobstructed view.

Our last home had a full glass door like this with the blinds attached to the door.

Everytime the door got closed they would clank annoyingly.

They can also fully close or tilt so a little light comes through.

I believe the door is by Jeldwen special ordered through Home Depot.

Also had new doors and base installed which came from Columbia Mill Works.

The shade of paint is called Half Moon Crest by Benjamin Moore however I had it color matched by Porter Paint, which I prefer.

How to hire the right sub contractor.

We've given ourselves a 45 day deadline to complete the house.

It's crunch time.

The home remodeling process has been a definite education.

We decided to hire out our own subs-contractors.

In so doing, we made a lot of mistakes along the way.

Mistakes that cost a lot of time and money.

I'm not totally regretful. The education has been priceless

(although I'm afraid the gray hair I've grown is permanent).

Here's a few tips worth sharing.

1. Ask around.
Inquire with your friends, family and co-workers if they have any contacts for a great plumber. They may say, "I know a great plumber, but..." The minute that "but" comes out of their mouth, move on. Any reservations are definite red flags and will come back to bite ya.

2. Interview several candidates in person.
I normally interview no less than three of each trade. Make sure all decision makers are present for the interview. Don't go with someone just because they were highly recommended. We did that and regret it.

3. Ask a lot of questions.
Ask about turn around time, money, how long they've been in the business, quiz them about the job itself. You will quickly get a sense for their skill level and knowledge. Also, make sure to ask if they are licensed, if not, you have no repercussion if they mess up.

4. Find out who will be doing the work.
Let's say you're interviewing a hardwood floor installer. You may think they're the ones who will be doing the job. However, come Monday his crew shows up and starts working. The person you interviewed is no where to be found. You thought you hired him but instead he sent his crew (who are complete strangers in your house all day long). Be clear about who will be doing the work. Inquire about how experienced his crew is and what he will do if their work is not to your satisfaction.

5. Check their references and check their work.
No matter what kind of story they give you do not skip over this step. Ask if they can meet you at their past job sites to show you their work. Ask for before and after pictures. Make sure to get at least three references. When you call the references ask questions such as...
a. When did JOE PAINTER work for you?
b. Was he reliable...did he deliver on what he promised?
c. Were you pleased with his work?
d. Is there anything you didn't like about the job he did?
e. Did he have a crew with him and how did they perform?
f. Did the project go over the budget originally quoted?
g. Did the job take longer than he said he would?

6. Put it in writing.
Once you agree on sub and the job, draw up a contract which includes all the terms. Put in a "no show" clause meaning if the sub doesn't show up on the day they said then you will deduct $100.00 (for example) off their pay. You can also draw up the terms where if they don't finish the job to your satisfaction on the date agreed upon then "X" amount will be deducted from their pay per day.

7. Think hard before hiring family members.
So you have a family member who offers to be your painter. If you've ever done any type of remodeling you know that RARELY does it go according to plan. You, as the customer, are emotionally and financially invested in the project. If that family member messes it up or doesn't perform to your standards, your relationship goes out the window, and you end up resenting them for a long time. It's just not worth it. Just decide up front to make it your policy not to hire family so not to potentially jeopardize relationships." (R.M., I'm not referring to you...:).

8. Follow your instincts.
Life is funny. We all have a built in sense about people. It's that little feeling in your gut that tells you right from wrong. Don't dismiss that feeling no matter how trivial your reasoning may be. I didn't do this with a drywaller we hired and we ended up paying for it in time and money (and we're still searching for the heat ducts he drywalled over).

9. Babysit.
Your standards are not their standards. After one guy botched a job in our house along with giving us a long list of broken promises I first went Jeff Lewis on him. Then, I stood over his shoulder and watched him do the entire job over and corrected him as he went. Oh yes, I did. Sometimes that's what you've got to do to ensure the job gets done right.

10. Never pay until the job is done.
If you give them payment and there are just a few things left to complete YOU'LL NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN!

There you go. All my tips I learned from remodeling gong wrong.

My dad says I'll laugh about it one day.

We'll see.

It pays to do it right the first time!

Quartzite 101.

Exciting progress is being made on the house which I'll share later.

In the meantime, it's time to get serious about counter top selections.

I'm smitten with Calcutta Marble but wondering if I'll be able to allow real life to happen while in the presence of these gorgeous counters?

(Forget that, I think the first important question is can I even afford Calcutta?)

Furthering that discussion, I had come across white quartzites (not to be confused with quartz which is typically a man-made product) in my online search for marble look-a-likes.

I set out to source quartzites locally so I could see them in person
(as there are countless variations with any stone).

After calling half a dozen slab yards I came up empty handed.

I met Stephanie through email with MGS through their blog, Granite Gurus (which is a wealth of knowledge on just about every single surface out there). What I love about them is they actually do their own testing with common substances that may come in to contact with the surfaces to see whether they'll etch or stain.

I did a little guessing and discovered it was the very talented Emily A. Clark.

Oreck Magnesium Vacuum review and giveaway.

Boy, oh boy, do I have the ultimate giveaway for you!

Oreck sent me their new Magnesium Vacuum Cleaner to review a few weeks ago.

I vowed to be completely honest and no sugar-coating.

Let's just say my little apartment has never been cleaner.

First of all it is so LIGHT! My old vacuum was so big and bulky (and I've got the biceps to prove it).

The Magnesium is light enough that I can now put my boys to work with zero guilt of child labor.

It really is so easy to manage I actually use it more often.

It sucks up every last crumb on carpet...

...and does equally as well on hard surfaces. I should know too...I despise using a broom and dustpan. In fact, I've had three vacs in the past that claim to vacuum hard surfaces and none have worked well. The problem is they blow the mess all over the floor when the vac gets close but the Magnesium vacuums without making a tornado mess!

It even worked on my jute rug.

This is my old vac filter which had to be cleaned after each use.

I actually had a rock outside that I designated as my "filter banging rock".

The Magnesium uses bags that you simply throw away when they're full. Simple.

The Magnesium also comes with this hand-held vacuum to clean hard to reach nooks and crannies.

I'm sensing a new addition to the chore list.

My proudest DIY moment.

Three years ago I tackled one of my most ambitious DIY projects ever of wrapping our entry with stripes.

The reason I'm re-visiting "my proudest DIY moment" is because Part Select is holding a contest for bloggers to post and submit a noteworthy project and potentially win $5,000.00 worth of new GE Appliances!

Our home was a "tract home" meaning it was visually B-O-R-I-N-G! Feeling a slight allergic reaction to having an identical home that looked like everyone else's I knew I needed to give it some personality. The house had quite a grand entryway which I envisioned wrapping in stripes. The "three-day project" actually took three weeks, every night from 7pm-12am.

We measured each line with a ruler and level to make sure the lines were even. Then we used Frog Tape, (which was perfect because there was no bleeding under the tape) to mark off the stripes. Last, we painted the grey between the tape, alternating every other stripe.

Talk about tedious!

Now when you enter it's far from looking like every other house on the block anymore.

People always ask about the layout and where the hall leads to.

At the end of the hallway is the living/dining room.

Another DIY feature we made was this message board which we created with magnetic and chalkboard paint. It's perfect for displaying calendars items, making lists of things to-do and keeping us informed of important upcoming events.

This office is also right off the hallway.

We also created a little breakfast nook, giving the space more use than just a means from here to there. It's much closer than walking all the way around to the dining table and a great little place for kids to do homework while I'm doing dinner.

I'll think long and hard about doing stripes again but it was well worth it in the end.
It's a space that makes me happy and proud.

I'm slightly obsessed with gift wrapping.

At the Blogger Social I recently attended we had a gift exchange and I brought these

boxes full of a "few of my favorite things".

Black and Decker Laser Level Giveaway.

Black and Decker must have seen the post I did two years ago where I used a three foot level to measure, mark and tape stripes in my entryway here.

I can just hear their marketing team now...

"That ~~dumb~~ poor girl. Did she really use that clunker of a level to measure EVERY, SINGLE one of those stripes? Doesn't she know we make a laser level? Let's send her one and let her try it out. She might go jump off a cliff after she figures out all the time she wasted by not using our laser level."

So this is the Black and Decker Laser Level and it is pretty sweet. It's got this big suction cup thing (which my husband demonstrated by sticking it to his massive forehead) which sticks right to your wall.

No messing up the paint. Cool.

We were trying to line up our growth board charts (by Growing Up Vintage).
Black and Decker has taken the guess work out of it. If the red light is flashing then it's not level.

I've been visiting the salad bar at

Whole Foods Grocery Store quite a bit lately.

I always grab an extra to-go salad container for sharing...

(my boys always say they don't want any...

until they see me eating and suddenly I have none left).

Over the past while I've collected a few un-used containers.

Here's how I made use of them.

1. Homemade cookies (I've found this recipe to be the very best).

2. More chocolate treats bagged and tied with ribbon.

3. Arrange neatly in to-go salad box.

4. Box it up and tie with silk ribbon.

Chocolate goodies for teachers, co-workers, neighbors, or whoever.

We thought we'd be in our house by Christmas but we've been told that's "extremely optimistic".

Since all our Christmas decor is in storage we're having fun decorating with household items

How to keep your family safe throughout the winter months.

Whether you’ve got small children or a pet dog, it’s important to keep everyone safe throughout the winter months. Rain, sleet and snow can fall when you’re least expecting it, so perhaps now is the time to pull out those thermals and invest in a decent snow shovel.

Here’s how to look after your family during the nippy spell:

Wrap up warm.

Throwing on a few extra layers can help keep the cold at bay, as can turning up the heating and snuggling under a duvet. There’s nothing worse than shivering in your own home, so make sure you’re nice and warm throughout the nippy season. Thermals are a winter must-have as are bed socks and fingerless gloves for around the house. A matching hat and glove set is ideal for a night exploring the Christmas markets and a thick jumper can work wonders. Try your hand at knitting winter warmers or create your very own patchwork bed spread. Unleash your creative side and enjoy arts and crafts with the whole family.

Make your own draft excluder.

If you’ve got a cold breeze blowing through your house try making a draft excluder. Simply get your hands on a piece of colourful material that is 4cm longer than the width of your door. Iron it, fold it in half so the pattern is on the inside and pin the sides together before stitching up the length of the rectangle. Turn the material inside out to reveal the pretty pattern and stitch up one of the ends. Stuff a pair of tights using beanbag balls, rice or lentils and tie a knot in one end before inserting this in the open side of your material. Stitch the last end together and you’ve got yourself a homemade draft excluder.

Put up heavy curtains.

To keep your family snug, safe and secure, it’s essential to put up a pair of heavy curtains. Thick material with energy efficient thermal lining will help keep the cold out and the heat in. A chilly breeze can lead to high energy bills, so do all you can to keep the icy weather out of your house. Visit a home store near you or get creative with your sewing machine. There are many instructional videos online and you’ll be able to make a pair that suits your house perfectly. You might also consider layering curtains to make sure your house really does stay warm this winter.

Stock up on essentials.

Mother Nature can send a flurry of snow or a harsh frost at any time, so make sure you’ve stocked up on winter essentials. There’s an array of winter road maintenance kits online and you’ll also find snow ploughs, deicer salt, grit spreaders and even salt bins. There’s nothing more annoying the sliding down your driveway so make sure you take the relevant precautions. Always keep de-icer nearby for your car and keep a first aid kit nearby in case someone takes a tumble.

Winter can be an enjoyable time of year, so long as you stay safe throughout the dark months.

We ate out this Thanksgiving.

No cooking, no cleaning, no fuss, no muss.

Trying to get three little boys to take a picture is as difficult as
trying to fit in your wedding dress 12 years later just for fun.

Despite them being challenging...I'm so grateful to be surrounded by so many wonderful men.

When we finally arrived to dinner, this guy slept peacefully on the floor, in the corner for the whole dinner.

Afterwards, we helped our meal digest with a round of glow-in-the-dark bowling set to music from the 80's.

In other events, we've cleared the house of all the cabinets, fixtures, appliances, etc. and they're all up for grabs. You want them, they're yours but you have to pick them up yourself (Sandy, UT).

Yes, they're dated, but they're the good, solid stuff.

While in Vegas I bribed my husband to go with me to West Elm in return for a lunch date. Just next door was a cool new interior design service / store called Ninush that caught my eye.

I'm not in to guns by any stretch of the imagination but this machine gun lamp was kind of interesting.

(No wait, I love guns and I have one in my bedside drawer [note to burglars]).

My idea of a vacation would be to spend all day wandering in and out of cool shops and boutiques like this one. However, I get a hunch that my vacations are going to consist of sensory-overload amusement parks for the next 18 years. Oh well.

A funny thing happened on our way to Vegas.

Two years ago we were making the 8-hour trek to Vegas to visit grandparents when my husband had a minor flip out. My 2 1/2 year-old (at the time) just got a new flashing light saber. 10pm and he was relentlessly banging my husband on the back of the head from the back seat with the thing. After repeated warnings, the Mr. pulled the car off the highway at some exit in the middle of nowhere, took the light saber and hucked it as far as he could in a field. (I can still picture that blue strobe lighting up the pitch black field). That was it. No lecture. No words. No more light saber. Momentary silence. Then the crying started...and lasted the next hour. A move the Mr. regrets to this day.

A couple of weeks ago we were headed to Vegas again to visit the grandparents. Baby was D-O-N-E with the car seat so we pulled over so he could nurse. The boys and the Mr. got out to stretch. Next thing I see, they're holding up some stick looking thing far off in a field.

NO LIE. He found his light saber...weathered, cracked and faded.

What are the chances that the baby had a melt down at that very moment, at that very same place?
Incredible.
Must be some melt down vortex at that spot.

His guardian angel must be part Jedi.

Kitchen is shaping up nicely.

Cabinets are done and the carpenter has been pestering me for my white paint selection

(which I still haven't chosen).

Hardware has been selected from Restoration Hardware.

Asbury Knob.

Aubrey Pull.

Faucet selections from Kohler (all in chrome).

(All of these look much better in person. Pictures don't do them justice).

First choice: The Torq.

Love the modern, sleek lines.

No fussiness to this kitchen jewelry.

A splurge, so it's out.

My second choice is the Purist.

Less razzle dazzle statement then the Torque but still sleek and modern (and a better price point).

My third choice: the Simplice.

Doesn't "wow" me, doesn't offend me.

Most budget friendly (which at this point, makes it very appealing).

Then we've got this monster of a sink called the Vault which will be undermounted.

It's so large I could practically bath in it myself.

I can finally fit my pots and pans in all the way.

So far everything is pretty safe.

White cabinets, chrome hardware and faucet, stainless steal appliances.

Fingers crossed on a black soapstone island and carrera marble to top the cabinets along the wall.

Do you sense a classic black and white scheme?

Then we come to lighting.

I've got a thing for lighting that makes a statement.

I have this plan up my sleave to attempt a DIY chandy for over the dinner table (stay tuned for that one).

I've always loved this library sconce for over the kitchen window and sink.

I'm hoping I can find it in an antique black.

Then there's my island pendant lighting dilemma.

In my months of searching I really haven't found anything that makes me dance.

Keeping budget at the forefront of my mind I'm considering two of these (on the right).

West Elm's Glass Jar Pendant.

They are simple, have visual interest, they don't steal the show.

However, I recently spied this in the Nov./Dec. issue of Lonny and I immediately started to dance.

I can get it in chrome to match all the rest of the chrome in the kitchen but it doesn't have the same luster as the old brass finish (below).

If you would have told me we'd still be at the stage we're at with this house months ago I wouldn't believe you. It's to the point of being comical

(except I've got gray hair and stress acne instead of the case of the giggles).

I could go on but I'll spare you the details.

On the other hand, here's what we HAVE done...

We're almost finished with electrical (wait, I said that three weeks ago).

The house has all new windows.

We demo'd the 70's rock and put in a gas fire place.

New skylight.

Yipee, a bathtub.

I'm still struggling with picking a white paint.

Now to the fun stuff...

Last week I had the pleasure of interviewing Kelly Edwards, co-host for the hit television shows Tacky House on Style Network and HGTV’s Design on a Dime, about making over your bathroom for under $200.

Here's a summary of our conversation:

Talk to me about your top elements to making over a bathroom on a budget?

Kelly: First I start with design style. I think you should always stick with a classic design scheme. Your bathroom is one of the places you get the biggest return on your investment and you don't want to have to spend money re-doing it later. As far as paint goes I would stick with shades of white, gray and you can even throw in touches of black. It's classic and will never go out of style. Then, if you want to add punches of color you can do it with accessories. As far as tile goes I love subway tile on the wall. It's crisp, clean and classic. Then penny tile on the floor gives the illusion of more square footage.

I agree, subway tile and penny tile is classic (in fact I'm planning on using them for one of my bathrooms). How can you personalize that look when everyone seems to be doing the same thing?

Kelly: Architectural elements is key. Instead of using a bathroom lighting fixture which can be harsh, consider using a library sconce on either side of the mirror or a table lamp on your vanity.

Kelly: Another thing to consider when re-doing your bathroom on a budget is to stay neutral with accessories. I wouldn't say I'm void of color in the bathroom but simple white towels are again, crisp, clean and classic.

I also highly recommend wallpaper bathroom. It can introduce pattern in the bathroom and also natural elements if you choose a grass clothe.

Let's talk paint. Do you have any "go-to" favorite paint shades?

Kelly: I don't have any particular suggestions on shade names because every bathroom has different lighting however, I tend to chose more brighter whites. When choosing paint you have to consider all lighting sources. Does the bathroom have a window? Remember the light in the morning is going to be different than the light in the evening. If you choose a creamier white it may tend to look orange at sunset. I suggest getting foam core and painting several boards different shades. Then you can hold the samples up in the bathroom and compare how the color looks at different times of day then, from there, make your best selection.

What other tips and tricks do you have for bathroom sprucing?

Kelly: I have two suggestions for your shower curtain rod and shower curtain. Your curtain rod is really important. Instead of using a straight rod try a curved rod instead which will not only give you more room in the shower but also introduce a bit of visual interest. Then of course, which shower curtain you choose allows you to play with style... modern, classic, festive, etc.

Favorite storage solutions?

Kelly: Baskets! Bathrooms can be stark and by using baskets you introduce a little warmth and texture in to the space.

Kelly: My last tip is don't forget about the shower head. You can literally turn your bathroom in to a spa bathroom just by changing out the shower head.

Last week, Air and Water, Inc. approached us about doing a review on their NewAir Icecream Maker.

Wild, because I just tried to find an ice cream maker last week but couldn't find one because they're considered a "seasonal" item.

So, here we go...

Instructions say to just add the ingredients, hit a button and in under an hour you get 1.5 quarts of ice cream.

We'll see.

These boys sat here for literally the full hour asking, "is it done yet?"

Then viewing space was encroached...cue the sibling rivalry.

Last week I accompanied my son and his preschool class on a field trip.

We visited this house which was pretty impressive.

1. Make a Collage

Is there a particular subject or theme you are passionate about, or happen to have a lot of pictures of? Maybe your kids have taken part in many sports, music lessons, or maybe you have a stack of old black and white pictures you’re not sure what to do with.

Go through photo albums, check your digital camera or scour your magazine collection. Once you find images that fit the theme that you have chosen, take poster board or some other sturdy material and put together a collage to hang. Another alternative is to simply frame some images and hang them in a cluster, close enough together that people will know what you are trying to do.

2. Hang Them from the Ceiling

Stepping away from old fashioned decoration staples means you can consider hanging your pictures from the ceiling. Why not? Perhaps you have a quilt that has been in the family for generations. Instead of leaving it in a box in the attic, take it downstairs and put it on the wall, or maybe even from the ceiling. If you have a painting that you drew several years ago, do not be shy in showing it to others.

Wall hanging and decorating should be fun, never a chore. When you get creative and try different things, whatever you do can be looked at in a new light. Part of moving to a new place means getting to discover new places to shop.
Overstock.com opened a new outlet store in my neighborhood.

These Tabouret Metal Chairs, regularly $274.95/four are sold for $174.99/four on their website.

I could only find one noticeable ding on one chair.

Halloween - thriftin' style.

I love to decorate but when it comes to holiday decorating, it's just not my thing. Perhaps I just have a hard time justifying spending money on things that I only get to display for a month then have to take down. I can, however, definitely afford a trip to the thrift store.

Last week I stopped in at Savers to see if I could spot any great finds. I was pleasantly surprised to find a display rack full of free idea sheets which shoppers could take to give them decorating inspiration. To be un-politically correct...they're ideas for what do with what some may call "junk" and transform it in to cool decor.

Check out some of their ideas:

Every thrift store I have been to has an over abundance of tarnished silver, silk flowers, and odd brass or ceramic trinkets. Take some black spray paint, pair them together and you've got a spook-tacular vignette.

A while back I found a ceramic owl that I spray painted white (here) but you could also use black for Halloween.

Now this is clever...using black and white chess pieces glued around a black spray painted wreath.

Every thrift store has all kinds of china. Here, they simply used image transfer paper to dress up plates for Halloween.

Get this...white spray-painted barbies, a fine-tipped black marker for the lips and eyes...doesn't get more spooky or appropriately weird than that.

These were only a few ideas but there were like a gazillion more which I would have grabbed if my dude wouldn't have spit up all over the floor.

The seat came in several sizes which made me think they'd look just as good as a side table.

These gals roam the country looking for junk to take back to their store in L.A.
where their contractor Alan transforms their vision in to really cool pieces.

(I'm thinking I need to get myself an Alan).

This trio team has serious creative vision.

Those chairs were transformed from a tire fender of a truck.

The lights in the back used to be a pesticide sprayer off a tractor.

Swinging chair was made from an old grain silo.

My fav is this chandelier made from an old rusty ring and twine.

Here's the piece I picked up at the Old Flamingo that made my heart go pitter-patter.

The Mr. about had a heart attack when he saw what I brought home. I plan to spray the wood white. I'd leave the pink if I could convince my husband but I'm afraid no amount of favors will change his mind on the color.

A while back a blogging friend, Elisabeth emailed me a photo of the same headboard she found on her local Craigslist and asked my opinion. I told her I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I lived in her same city. She ended up passing on it. She did, however, send me some photos she found on Style Swoon of some "after" photos that someone else re-furbished..

Last week my three little men and I were going stir crazy in the apartment.

I made them a proposition...a trip to the park in exchange for a trip to a furniture store.

DEAL.

After the trip to the park we found ourselves at the Old Flamigo in Holladay, UT. We were actually lured in by the ugliest snow cone shack you've ever seen. They were operating out of an old grey camper that was sitting in the parking lot with a line of people a mile long. Surprisingly the sugared snow was delicious. Anyway, the Old Flamingo had all kinds of interesting vintage treasures. I loved most everything but there was one particular piece that made my heart go pitter-patter which I'll share with you tomorrow.

than to blog about things without sharing where I found them.
I was flattered by the many emails asking where I found the items used for my backyard baby blessing bash. Here's the scoop:

Glass jars: Walmart.

(I have also seen them at Target).

Cupcakes: So Cupcakes.

I gave her an idea of what I wanted with dimensions,

she designed them, emailed me a few PDF samples, then I printed them.

A backyard bash.

The Mr. blessed our littlest man at church this past Sunday.

Afterwards we hosted our family for a luncheon on the back patio

(since the house is in a state of serious construction).

We spruced the patio up as best as possible

so hopefully people wouldn't notice the peeling paint falling off the ceiling.

We started with this:

We unpacked a few boxes stashed in the basement storage and came up with this.

The refinished table looks great thanks to Natalie.

Erin, from Designer Blogs made up these labels for me.

She sent me the PDF then I printed them.

The star of the party missed the whole thing. He did however, wake up in time to supervise clean up.

Since there have been so many changes in our lives (new baby, new move, new state, new house) why not change our blog around too? Thank you for all the input on ideas for a new blog names. Starting this evening (fingers crossed), my blog will have a new name and new look all thanks to the talented Erin at Designer Blogs.

Growth charts.

One of the things my boys are obsessed with is their height (or as my 3 year old puts it, "how much am I"?). We had a special spot to measure their growth on the garage wall in AZ but then we moved and so went our growth wall. Imagine my delight when I came across Growing Up Vintage growth chart boards!

We made it to Salt Lake City.

Bought ourselves a fixer-upper.

Totally un-inhabitable.

Moved in to a "luxury" apartment while we renovate.

We're planning on falling through to the first floor tomorrow.
