you can check out magazines from the library?
Yes, I’ve been to a library before.
Maybe it was just the last city I was in that didn’t allow you to do this.
Maybe I never thought about checking.
Nevertheless, give me some bon-bon’s, I’ll be on the sofa with my mags all afternoon.

I’ve been buying old issues from my local library for some time. The older the issue the better (for me) I get them for .25-.50 depending on the year this issue was published
I love this about my library..I am a magazine hound-so this is much easier on the pocketbook
Seriously?! Where have I been?! This is great news. I never wanted to spend the money on a full subscription and don’t mind if they’re not the latest issue. I never even thought to check a library.
Huge fan of the public library!
i luuuurve my library and have blogged about getting my magazines there. it’s definitely a thing you have to time right-when the new ones come out and the previous months is available for checkout. glad you discovered this!
Ah yes. If only my local library was open on Sundays

I actually drive out of my way to go to the library close to our old house where they get almost EVERY SINGLE MAGAZINE I’ve ever heard of (and a lot I hadn’t until I saw them there!).
Unfortunately, sometimes the good room shots are missing pages from people who’ve ripped em out for themselves

Totally heart the library, for so many reasons! Would be honored if you stopped by to visit my Beautifully Balanced Collections from the library!

Love to spend an hour in the ‘Quiet Room’ at the library just enjoying the design mags. Our local library also has some fantastic design books – Terrence Conran – Kelly Hoppin – the list just goes on and on…
Oh yes–if you wait for the library sales they always have a TON of magazines (at least mine does) and ones I wouldn’t necessarily pay to subscribe to, but would still love to read! Ours are only 10 cents each! (Of course, that does bring a ridiculous amount of clutter in, but at least it’s cheap clutter-ha!)
I LOVE ‘House Beautiful’ and subscribe to it! I often see things in there that I know you’d love!!
Hi Michelle,
I was so inspired by your post that I put a library Beautifully Balanced Collection together in honor of you. Hope you like it!!

Hey Michelle,
This is Rachelle (angela cromar’s younger sister). . .so I totally check out your blog every so often because you are amazing. Anyway, I loved your little party idea several posts down, but there was already 53 posts. . .didn’t want my praise to get lost. Thanks for the ideas and your baby is so squishable. Yum!
Rachelle,
Of course I know you. Thanks for you sweet words. I just friended you on Facebook.
I’ve lived in cities where the library allows you to check out magazines. My current library, however, doesn’t. Such a sad day when I learned that. Enjoy your magazines (and bon bons:))!
